Wedding Invitation FAQ

Do you create fully custom invitations?

At this time, I am unable to offer fully custom wedding invitation suites. Due to the time consuming nature of the custom invitation process, I am incapable of working with clients on individual, custom designs and keep costs low. I hope to help couples get started on the right foot in their wedding and marriage, so I really think that semi-custom is a beautiful and sensible route for wedding invitations. If you are interested in extravagant, custom wedding invitations, I have some friends in the stationery industry that I would love to recommend to you!

How soon should I order my semi-custom wedding invitations?

The time constraints for ordering invitations often depend on the speed of communication, payments, and the necessity of edits, so the sooner you can inquire and get the process started, the better! Also be sure to read and type carefully and communicate efficiently! The invoicing, designing, and proofing process of my semi-custom suites takes 3-6 weeks. Once designs are approved, production takes 2-3 weeks. Please also allow time for yourself or a professional to address and assemble your invitations. If you would like me to address and assemble them, the turnaround time is usually 2-3 weeks. All in all, the process could take anywhere from 6-12 weeks.

When do I need to send my wedding invitations?

Wedding invitations should be sent out 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding date. Destination wedding invitations should be sent 3-6 months prior to the wedding date. Be sure to factor in time to address and assemble your wedding invitations between the time you receive them and the time you need to send them out!

What if I would like a different design at the top of the invitation instead of the crest?

No problem! While the semi-custom suite is designed to be a fairly fixed design, there is some flexibility with the top portion of the main invitation card. Where the monogram crest is located, we can put another illustration of your choosing, such as a floral design, a different monogram or crest, venue illustration, geometric design, etc. (Sorry, no people or animals.) To request a custom design, in the Add-Ons section above, just select ‘Custom Illustration’, and we can discuss what design you would like to be there!

What if I want to make changes or corrections to my invitation after I’ve already received a proof?

The pricing listed above includes TWO free rounds of proofs. Since the suite is semi-custom, the only changes made to your invitation will be your names, initial, details, and invitation wording (if desired). As such, the proofs are meant to double check spelling and accuracy. Please be sure to proofread very carefully, as you will be responsible for mistakes/reprints after you approve the proofs. Any changes made to your order after two rounds of proofs will incur a $50 fee, billed separately.

Is assembly included?

Assembly is not included in the listed price. However, I will be happy to assemble your invitations for you! It is a meticulous process, and I would love to help take the task off your plate during the crazy wedding planning season! The fee for invitation assembly is 30% of the cost of your invitations. (Please note: I am only able to offer assembly to clients who have me address their envelopes.)
